Where's the quality?
Yesterday, I did three loads of laundry. Admittedly, one load was just sheets. I noticed as I put clothes in the washer some shirts had holes in them. It used to be you could buy a concert tee when you were in college and still be wearing it twenty years in its faded glory to relive your youth. I find now, that t-shirts only last a couple of years before they get holes. I have some that aren't even faded yet and because of holes need to be thrown out. So I ask, Where's the quality?

Off to camp...the hard part
Today I took my daughter to sleep away camp for the first time and while it is hard to realize she is 10 and old enough to go, it was harder to iron on the name tags, since the instructions weren't clear on the temperature of the iron-- very, very hot for your knowledge. (The label company will remain nameless, but it will receive an email from me on this matter.)

Well, it's a saturday night...
The kid is sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpa's house and I am cleaning house, organizing, doing laundry and even making mac n' cheese for a family dinner tomorrow night (yes, homemade) and wondering why I am not taking this time to do for myself rather than for my household (I don't count doing my laundry as self care).

A mother'w work is never done (I know a cliche, but.....)
Happy Mother's Day!
While my daughter and her friend that slept over made me waffles this morning, it is still a Sunday which means laundry, general house clean-up and grocery shopping and thankfully my husband cleaned up the kitchen (after two 9 year olds made waffles) and took them to the park, so the house is empty and I can clean as I want without feeling like I am rebelling against mother's day.

Order in the....
Sometimes I just need to get my house in order to feel in order myself, so after two loads of laundry, emptying the dishwasher and organizing the garage (it is small and holds no car), I felt in order and got my first marketing mailing on my talk series ready to mail.

Practice what I preach
I am home with a bad head cold, maybe sinus infection and my daughter called me lazy because I spent most of yesterday in bed and then I remembered that when she has a problem I often tell her that she must help herself first, which gave me an "aha!" moment, so today I am cleaning my office space because it is much needed and taking are of chores, basically helping myself to feel better despite my cold.

Tuesday's Tip: Eco friendly Laundry
A few months back I read that adding a dry towel to a dryer cycle cut drying time equaling saved energy. The added bonus is the clothes come out softer and with less static (with no dryer sheet).

Tuesday's Tip: Avoid wrinkling clothes
Do not over stuff your drier or your clothes will come out wrinkled. (Since, I did this recently, I had to iron my husbands chinos.)
